Perm-Lok PS1100 permanently engages the Central Axle Disconnect (CAD) system and couples both front axles. Once installed, the front axles will not pull until the transfer case is engaged. Ideal for offroad vehicles or vehicles that never see the road. Features new cast aluminum housing with gasket kit and a new machined inner push rod to lock the central axle disconnect in an engaged position. Installation can be completed in about 30 minutes.
Put yourself in control of the engagement from inside the cab with the 4x4 Posi-Lok cable operated actuator. When the transfer case is engaged, a one inch pull of the 4x4 Posi-Lok cable slides the shift fork and collar to connect the right front axle to the intermediate shaft and 4-wheel drive is engaged. Simply reverse the procedure to disengage 4-wheel drive. 4x4 Posi-Lok also works great with lockers! When the front axle is locked, you can disengage the passenger side in order to make turns without wheel hop.
Common problems with the OEM system - Vacuum Actuator
- The colder the temperature, the longer it will take to engage.
- If the front differential becomes submerged, the TLA temperature will cool and the 4 wheel drive will disengage.
- The TLA unit can cause excessive wear on internal components in the differential and may cause other electrical problems.
